CPA applicable to Residential Rentals? |

Do I understand it correctly that with the CPA coming into being on 1 April 2011, that the 20 business day notice from tenants and landlords to each other, has not been included under residential rentals?

Dear Marlene
The CPA does apply to us and the 20 day notice period does apply to rentals. It does not however apply to any leases and arrangements made before 1 April 2011.
The next month or two is being regarded as a window period during which time I will alter the leases when I am certain of the alterations required. There is a newsletter going out next week which will explain what to do when a tenant give you 20 days notice, bearing in mind that it can only be a new tenant and not one who was signed up before 1 April 2011.
