On April 2011, The Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("The Act") became fuly operational and introducred a new era of substantialy improved consumer rights for those transacting in South Africa. It is unforunate that there is considerable measure of uncertainty as to the exact scope of the Act's application in various areas of business transactions. One such area is the Act's effect on leses, both commercial and residential.
